A weekend seminar serving as an introduction to the study of different schools of thought within Chinese medicine. The emphasis in this course will be a detailed examination of the clinical relevance of some historically important doctors and their treatment strategies: an introduction to a richer, more classical approach to Chinese herbal medicine – in distinct contrast to the distilled version of Chinese medicine named “TCM.”

The instructor, Jin Zhao, is about to complete a Ph.D at the Chengdu University of TCM, where he teaches a full semester-length version of this course. A talented teacher and translator as well as a practicing doctor, he has special expertise on the subject of Li Dongyuan (famous author of..."
