How To Find It
This point may be found two thirds of the disance between the midline and the medial border of the scapula when the shoulder is in a relaxed position.
Innervation
Innervation:
Superficially, the medial cutaneous branches of the posterior rami of the first and second thoracic nerves, the accessory nerve; deeper, the dorsal scapular nerve.
Vasculature
Vasculature:
Deeper, the transverse cervical artery and vein.
Cautions
Cautions:
Risk of inducing pneumothorax with deep insertion inferiorly, especially in thin patients.

Puncture obliquely 0.3-0.6 inch.
